Poppy Day
Remembrance Day November.
HMS C20 Association takes Members to the Cenotaph in London Every year for the Remembrance day parade,.organised by the Royal British Legion.
This event is a very special day. It gives us a formal time to remember all those service personnel who paid the ultimate price to protect our country from all previous conflicts. We also enjoy the camaraderie with other services that those who served appreciate.
The formal part of the day commences with a muster on Horse Guards Parade at 09:30 to form up for the Service of Remembrance then march past. It is pleasing to see how many people turn out to remember those who served and those who continue to do so.
After paying our respects and laying our Association Wreath on the Cenotaph we march back to Horse Guards parade after a member of the Royal Family has taken the salute.
Once dismissed we proceed to The Tom Cribb pub a stone’s throw from Trafalgar Square, often frequented by Wally! Here we meet up with other servicemen from the parade including those from Bomber Command and other ships, to enjoy lunch provided by The Tom Cribb then enjoy a Loyal Toast with a well-earned Tot or two! The afternoon is spent in wonderful company prior to dispersing back home.
We recognise that many Tiger attend similar ceremonies throughout the country and would welcome write ups and photographs from these events. Please send to [email protected] for uploading.
